The Gate is tucked away in a church yard in Hammersmith. The light, airy room is decorated with contemporary art, and there is always a great buzz and friendly atmosphere. The menu is all vegetarian and vegan, and changes regularly. There are lots of great dishes, from thai curry to pasta and more adventurous creations.The wine is very good, and the deserts normally bang on. The only thing that sometimes lets The Gate down is the service, which is sometimes slow and unattentive. You easily forget about that though, especially in summer when the outside tables add a great, quiet setting.
